SOLDER FORTIFICATION / SOLDER PREFORMS VIDEO

Does your project call for a precise amount of solder? Does the solder need to fit around a pin or fill an irregular shape? If so, then you should consider a Solder Preform (see video below). Solder preforms are manufactured shapes of solder or braze metals designed to fit a specific joint configuration (for solder fortification). Preforms contain precise and predetermined quantities of an alloy and/or a pure metal.

Solder Fortification Preforms are used in a variety of applications; such as hybrid and discrete component assembly and surface mount technology. Solder preforms come in a variety of shapes and sizes and in virtually all materials offered by the Indium Corporation.

This video shows the Amistar I-Pulse M10/M20 pick and place series. This economically priced product line has a rated speed of 60,000 cph (IPC 46,000 cph) and can handle components ranging from 01005 up to 90mm by 120mm. Machines can be equipped with feeder carts for quick change over, CAD offline programming, set up validation and others.
